Windows 10: Now End of Life – What This Means

Support Has Ended
As of 14 October 2025, Microsoft has officially ended support for Windows 10. This means no more free security updates, bug fixes, or technical assistance. While your PC will still function, it is now significantly more vulnerable to cyber threats and compatibility issues.
What Does End of Life Mean?
- No security patches: New vulnerabilities will not be fixed, increasing the risk of malware and ransomware attacks.
- Windows 10 will not receive any new functionality or performance improvements.
- Microsoft 365 apps and other software may stop working or lose compatibility over time.
- Microsoft will no longer provide troubleshooting or customer support for Windows 10.
In short, Windows 10 is now a legacy system. Continuing to use it without a plan puts your data, devices, and business continuity at risk.
Your Options
- Upgrade to Windows 11: If your PC meets the system requirements, you can upgrade for free. Use the PC Health Check app to confirm eligibility.
- If your current device isn’t compatible, consider purchasing a Windows 11-ready machine.
- Microsoft offers a paid ESU programme for one additional year of critical security patches (until October 2026).
- Options like Linux Mint or ChromeOS Flex may suit certain use cases.
